What does it take to have your best tryout ever?  Well, in today’s Facebook Life Coach Edwards discusses just that.

Are You Ready For Tryouts?

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been playing year round, or just picking up a stick after a long break.  You can still have your best tryout if you follow these steps:

  1. Get as prepared as possible and know what’s coming.  Step one is all about getting prepared tactically for the tryout.
  2. Do you trust all of your equipment?  What do you need to get repaired, replaced.
  3. We’ll talk about the three steps to get ready physically.
  4. You don’t have a ton of time to change anything at this point technically, but you might be able to tighten things up a bit.

What About Those Butterflies Too?

I go into a lot of detail in each of those four steps to have your best tryout ever.  And finally, we’re going to talk about embracing the butterflies and what to do if you’re feeling nervous.

Last year I worked with a lacrosse goalie who was having one of their worst off-seasons ever.  They were headed into the season in not the best head space.  When the dad called me to see if we could work together, I’ll be honest, I didn’t think this goalie was going to be able to turn things around.

Focusing On The Four Steps To a Great Tryout

But we focused on the four steps and with some tweaking, we got this goalie on track to not just make the team, but become a starter.  It was pretty cool.
