As I watch lacrosse goalies each and every week, I sometimes wonder…”How the heck are we supposed to stop THAT!?” And as you know I often look to other goalies in other sports for inspiration. With that in mind, we can’t discount the approach a soccer goalie takes to a penalty shot since they have the research that shows goalies don’t have enough time to rely on their speed and agility to react to a ball shot from that close. This further supports my argument that goalies need to utilize more of what they have to make a save and not just their stick. We’ll discuss.
